Old Stitchers Never Die

£5.20

Reproduction samplers have always been very popular, and are often referred to individually by the names of the young lasses, now long departed, who stitched them all those years ago.

It’s not uncommon to come across remarks in stitching chat rooms such as, “I’m doing Amy Featherstone” or “Charlotte Trollop is such a tease to stitch”, even “Jemima Beasley is in time out” Such fun.

So, it’s really quite logical to conclude that “Old stitchers never die, they just turn into samplers”. Well someone had to do it.

Comes to you, with a laugh and a girlish giggle, as a pdf which never even existed in the 18th century. “Fie Mr Dawlish, I must withdraw as I must prick and pounce my sewing chart with some urgency before Mama and I take tea with Mrs Ponsonby at the vicarage.”
